Research Experience:

Dr. Bon-Gang Hwang is a tenured Associate Professor and Director of Centre for Project Management & Construction Law in the Department of Building at National University of Singapore. He was also a former Program Director for the Project and Facilities Management program offered by the department. He received his Masters and Doctorate in Architectural, Civil and Environmental Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin, USA, with the specialty of Construction Engineering and Project Management.

He has been serving as the Advisory Board of Singapore Process Construction & Maintenance Productivity Council, Public Project Performance Assessment Program of Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transportation of Korea, and SaeManGum Development Project & Program Management of Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transportation of Korea, and Performance Assessment & Improvement Committee as well as Value of Best Practice Joint Committee at the Construction Industry Institute, USA.

With over 20 years of experience in the construction industry of USA, Singapore, and South Korea, he has consulted in various areas for Bechtel, CH2M HILL, Aberdeen, Worley Parsons, The Shaw Group, Zurich Insurance Company, GS Engineering & Construction, Shimizu Corporation, Hanmi Global, Economic Development Board of Singapore, Construction Industry Institute of USA, Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transportation of Korea, etc.

His current research interests are in the areas of project/enterprise productivity improvement, management strategies and innovations for green construction projects, project/enterprise performance assessment and improvement, and project/enterprise risk management and decision support system.

He has delivered over 120 invited speeches at various international conferences, seminars and workshops and published over 150 journal papers, conference papers, books, research reports, book reviews and short articles to top-tier international refereed journals, conference proceedings and publishers.
